John and Alun have been singing together since 1989, but it was after the release of their first album on the SAIN label in 1991 that they really began to make an impact on audiences throughout Wales. Both were brought up at Tudweiliog, in the beautiful Llyn Peninsula during the late 50’s, and went to Tudweiliog Primary School and Ysgol Botwnnog.
Following the success of ‘John ac Alun’, most of their time goes on arranging gigs, and composing songs and material for their weekly slot on BBC Radio Cymru. The duo have twice been over to Amsterdam (1998 and 2000) with more than 300 Welsh followers, and sang on the P & O ferry. They also performed in County Clare, Ireland in 2000. Having recorded their 4th S4C television series for Tonfedd, their Fan Club under the watchful eye of Ann Davies became one of the largest on the Welsh scene.
They have a string of successful albums to their name, a song-book, as well as a biographical volume tracing their career as Wales’ leading country duo.
