As well as all this live music, we have a fun family afternoon on Saturday from 12pm onwards. Magnox Ltd and Menter Iaith Môn have joined forces with the Copperfest to create an afternoon of entertainment especially for children and families. Lots of characters will be there to say hello, including Selog, the friendly yellow dragon from Anglesey, Sali Mali, Peppa Pinc, Betsan Brysur a Hiwi Stomp storytelling sessions, and a chance to sing your little socks off with Arfon Wyn and his guitar. Hopefully it’ll be an afternoon to remember. These activities will start on Saturday afternoon, 23th of August between 12pm and 3pm. Come on and join the fun! Copperfest-family-day2014

What’s on in 2014

Three nights of music and culture featuring some amazing bands and artists, and all free admission.

As usual, the festivities begin with live music on the Friday evening. Showcasing the talent we have here on Ynys Môn are bands such as Marble Parlour, who get proceedings underway, followed by welsh band, Mr Annwyl.  Up next are Pretty Ugly, back by popular demand following their debut last year and Copperfest stalwarts Bad Dog, who will provide their own unique high-octane rock.  Rounding off the night are #Band6. This popular band have been gigging all over Wales, and we’re glad to say they have managed to squeeze in an appearance in the middle of their busy schedule. #Band6 perform a powerhouse set of Welsh and English, rock ‘n’ roll classics.

Saturday evening is headlined by popular Betheda-based band, Celt, who are guaranteed to whip up a storm. Appearing with Celt are Irish band, Silk Cut Blues, who last year captured the audience’s attention so much that we had to invite them back. Ynys Mon’s very own Y Moniars, who are making their well-overdue debut at this year’s Copperfest, will no doubt, create a real carnival atmosphere. All girl group Cordia, Holyhead’s very own Vice Chancellors and the Conwy Mountain Bluegrass Band get this eclectic mix of music underway at 3pm

Live music continues on the Sunday afternoon with a Country feel.  We are pleased to announce that John ac Alun and Wil Tân appear together alongside the Bangor Tenovus Charity choir. Watch out for a very local ‘Tony ac Aloma’ tribute act too! This ‘ Canu Gwlad’ Country afternoon takes place on Sunday 24th August, between 1pm and 5pm

Sunday night kicks off with a bang when ex Frizbee singer, Yws Gwynedd  makes a welcome return performing his new material, sprinkled with a few Frizbee favourites. Next comes Kizzy Crawford, fresh from her appearance at Glastonbury, and at the age of tender age of 17, Kizzy is already a Welsh songstress with bags of talent set to be unleashed on the rest of the UK. Local TV and radio presenter, Elin Fflur reformed Carlotta with her brother Ioan Llewelyn, for last year’s festival, but this time she’s back with her own band, to showcase her powerful voice, and no doubt will perform another high quality set. Following Elin is Amlwch’s very own unstoppable force, Ed Holden aka Mr Phormula, beatboxer, producer, and self-confessed all round general noise maker! The legendary Bryn Fôn a’r Band perform on the Sunday night for the very first time, and their set of classic songs are guaranteed to get everyone in the festival spirit. As if that was not enough, we are very honoured, and proud to announce, that world renowned opera and concert singer, Rhys Meirion will close the festival.

As well as all this live music, we have a fun family afternoon on Saturday from 12pm onwards. Copperfest Inn 2014

This year, to assist with funding costs, the Copperfest committee are running their own bar at this year’s festival. all profits from this bar will go back into the pot to ensure next years festival remains viable. As you can imagine, the economic climate at present is making it extremely difficult to raise sufficient funds to enable us to provide a free admission event.

We have listened to your feedback from last year and have decided not to use the token system this year … strictly cash only!  We would therefore be very grateful if you could support us by using this bar to guarantee future events.

This bar will be staffed by volunteers, ensuring maximum revenue is put back into the festival, and every pound you spend here helps towards next year.

You may be asked for proof of age at the token desk or bar area.
